The news of Pieter's passing still hasn't sunk in yet. Some of the best Friday nights have been spent in his company; DGR friends united by the beats he played - the perfect start to the weekend. I have much to thank him for, mainly the development of my love for 'our' music. His passion for it is something I'll never forget.

Just found out the sad news that DJ Pieter has lost his battle with Cancer. Words are failing me at the moment but I would like to say thank you to Pieter for the joy he gave to the world with his amazing Weekend Kick Off show. Pieter was the reason I first tuned in to DGR. May you rest in peace my friend we will never forget you

Returned from holiday and my worst fears realised that Pieter lost his long fight.

In terms of a colleague here at DGR he was a truly committed, totally relaible and ever helpful guy to have around.

As a DJ here he will be remembered for the truly great shows he played with the music he had an unending passion for.

We have much to thank Pieter for - He gave up his time and energy freely for a station playing the music he loved.

I am sure that Luther, Teddy P, Lady T and all the others will be singing a special song for Pieter - RIP my friend

I'm very sad to learn that the no.1 DJ of Dancegroove Radio has passed away. I also considered him as a friend, and he taught me so much about the world of disco and funk music. Thank you for all the great music you presented, the good times in the chatroom and your knowledgeability in the disco/funk genre. Rest in peace, Pieter. Tom/Snowy74

Just received the news of DJ Pieter's passing.....stopping by to give my condolences to his family, collegues, and friends. DJ Pieter always epressed respect and friendliness...my way. Pieter was always great to listen to. I am proud to have regarded him as a friend who had such an amazing knowledge and passion for the music he played.His Friday night shows were legendary and was the inspiration for the Feelgood list for which I will always be grateful for. Cheers Pieter RIP.
